My psychic abilities first started to show themselves when I was very young I would see things and hear voices. When I was old enough to understand I thought the voices I heard were my mother calling me and when she denied this I thought she was playing with me (it appears I even tried to rationalise things at that early age).
The first time I realised that not everyone could see, hear and feel the same as I could was when I was around nine years old. I had always have difficulty in making friends as I suffered from astigmatism as a child and throughout infants school I had one lens of my glasses covered with plaster. I couldn't see very well out of the uncovered (lazy) eye so I was always falling over and bumping into things which made me a laughing stock and the target for being bullied. So you can imagine how good it felt when a couple of people wanted to be friends with me.
A group of us were at one friend's house, telling ghost stories and playing the usual kids games when I saw an elderly man sat in the chair in the corner of the room. I asked if the others could see him and was met with quizzical expressions and whispering. I described the man fully. One of the others said, "That's my granddad and he's dead. After that they all avoided me and I learnt not to speak about my 'pictures'.
My Little Stories
As a child and a young teen I believed that I made up stories that often came true. Let me give you an example: I was married at 17 and my husband often went out drinking with his mates or popped into his mum's after work. One day I made up a story in my head that he wasn't actually going to see his mum he was actually having an affair. A short while later he came home with a red mark on his neck and when I asked what it was he told me his shirt collar had been rubbing. Although I had seen love bites before, being young and easily fooled, I believed him. Although I didn't realise it at the time my little story had been correct. The problem was when I made up little stories and they actually happened I thought I was causing them to happen by making up the story. It wasn't until I was about 18 that I realised my little stories were actually predictions, warning me what was going to happen.
