Writing an Autobiography

Image
Original watercolour painting by and copyright to Brenda Diskin Saturday, April 14. 2018 You would think writing about your life would be easy, but don't you believe it. Besides trying to express the things that you experienced in the whole of your lifetime so that they make sense and are not just random ramblings, you have to also endeavour to make them interesting enough for other people to read. Whether right or wrong I just wrote down, in order, a rough draft of all the relevant moments in my life and the situations that surrounded them. The problem is a lot of emotions got stirred up and I found myself laughing at funny and ridiculous events. However, when it came to writing about traumatic events, especially the real tear jerkers, I often had to walk away while I tried to settle my feelings; sometimes this would take days, even weeks. The main problem with tackling your story in this manner is that when you rewrite it, so that it makes sense to your readers, yo...

My Psychic Development

Saturday, April 21. 2018 My psychic abilities first started to show themselves when I was very young I would see things and hear voices. When I was old enough to understand I thought the voices I heard were my mother calling me and when she denied this I thought she was playing with me (it appears I even tried to rationalise things at that early age). The first time I realised that not everyone could see, hear and feel the same as I could was when I was around nine years old. I had always have difficulty in making friends as I suffered from astigmatism as a child and throughout infants school I had one lens of my glasses covered with plaster. I couldn't see very well out of the uncovered (lazy) eye so I was always falling over and bumping into things which made me a laughing stock and the target for being bullied. So you can imagine how good it felt when a couple of people wanted to be friends with me. A group of us were at one friend's house, telling ghost stories a...

About Bren

A natural medium, psychic and remote viewer Brenda has been using her gifts for many years. She was born into a family of psychics / clairvoyants, both her mother and grandmother had the gift. Her grandmother was of Celtic and French descent and it is believed she inherited the gift from her mother. This gift has also been passed to Brenda's son. As a child Brenda used to see and hear spirit on a regular basis which frightened a lot of her friends so she learnt not to speak about her 'pictures and voices'. Brenda's first step into learning more about her gift was to join a coven at the age of 15 (Alexandrian). A couple of years later she decided this was not for her and although she still followed a witchy path she began her own journey of discovery. These days her beliefs are her own and her pathway is a combination of Paganism / Occult/ism / Witchcraft / Shamanism / Spiritualism / Metaphysics / Various other traditions and her own findings.  Brends is a traditional w...

Reflections

Image
Photo copyright to Brenda Diskin Sat here looking out at the garden, with ideas buzzing around my head. Need to practise using the pa equipment and find out the other stuff I need. They so lie when they say this stuff is portable. I love a bit of stress it helps you come up with the best plans. I can't say all is good with the world but while I have ideas then things will work out. My books are selling, slowly but selling. Had three lots of royalties so far, whoopee I can afford breakfast for two at Wetherspoon. Lol. Joking aside I am just grateful that someone appreciates my work and the huge amount of effort that goes into it. I am a very complex person but what you see is what you get, I say it like it is. People either love me or hate me there is no in between. It is no good trying to analyse me as even I don't know what I am about. I love my family, a few good friends and my furry babies and will do anything within my power for them. I enjoy what I do and am happy if i...

Anthony Gormley - Another Place. Photo copyright Brenda Diskin 2016 My work is influenced by life and nature. Everybody and everything has a story. I look beyond what the eye sees, gaining my inspiration from the life force of the subject. By doing so I am able to access the full picture. My roles are varied depending on which head I have on. I teach workshops and courses on various subjects, give psychic readings and demonstrations, paint and draw. My passion is writing and I am presently in the process of penning my autobiography.
